DNSCrypt was designed in OpenDNS  to improve security concerns with the DNS protocol.

The DNS system is a major area of security for Web traffic, since compromised data from a DNS server can result in your system either not being able to find the servers it needs, or even worse, being redirected to a rogue server that will try to install malware, or coerce you into giving up personal information among other illegal activities. For example in China and other countries government use incorrect DNS records to redirect people to fake address(like they block facebook, youtube, twitter and so on)

DNSCrypt encrypting all DNS traffic between the user and OpenDNS, preventing any spying, spoofing or man-in-the-middle attacks.

OpenDNS client is nice tool and absolutely for free improve your security! Strongly recommend use DNSCrypt with any internet connection

Only MAC client available at the moment. You can download DNSCrypt using this link

Here is small example how to setup and use DNSCrypt in MAC OS
